New Poster & Stills For ‘Expatriate’ May 04

Some new info is out about The Expatriate finally! It is likely to be released this fall in theatres and Video on Demand. Also, a new poster and nearly 40 promotional stills have been released and can now be found in the gallery!

The Weinsteins VOD/artier arthouse shingle Radius continues to rack up an impressive roster in their debut year. Sundance comedy hit “Bachelorette” and two Nicolas Winding Refn associated projects — the “Pusher” remake and the director’s next film “Only God Forgives” — are now flying under the banner, and they’re continuing on their buying spree, notching another movie under their belt.

The thriller “The Expatriate” starring Aaron Eckhart and Olga Kurylenko has now found a home, and it’s a promising little movie. Based on a script by Arash Amel, with Philipp Stölzl directing, Eckhart plays a former agent who moves to Belgium, trying to make a fresh go of things as the relationship with his 15-year-old daughter (Liana Liberato) has crumbled. Working for a multinational corporation as a security head, he arrives to work one day to find that the corporation doesn’t actually exist and everyone he works with has vanished. He discovers his assistant is actually a trained operative trying to kill him. On the run with his daughter, the experience forces the two to trust and work with one another. Kurylenko will play his former CIA partner and lover trying to track him down.

Yes, it’s described as a mix between ‘Bourne’ and “Taken” but we’re hoping that the usually rock solid Eckhart elevates the material a bit and this isn’t just a lazy riff on that genre. We’ve dug up some new images from the film of Eckhart doing his rugged thing and you can look at one more that dropped (rather prematurely) last summer over here. “The Expatriate” will get both a VOD and theatrical release, with a fall 2012 date being eyed. LL Gets a Makeover! May 01

After having the last layout up for nearly 20 months, Loving Liana finally has a brand-spanking new layout! This gorgeous thing was made by my amazing friend Flor. Thank you so much, Flor!! She also made a gallery layout, which will be up later on. Anyways, I hope everyone like this totally different, totally amazing new look for the site! The tagboard has return; it was removed because our last provider began charging for their services. Please remember to keep all posts kind and appropriate.

A few others changes are that I’ve switched the updating system to WordPress and will soon allow comments on news posts. Check back for that! Also, the pages on the site may look disorganized over the next few weeks but it’s only because I will be implementing a cleaner look to the pages and updating some things. Be sure to keep an eye out!

Facebook & ‘Writers’ Feb 22

Liana recently got a Facebook page for her fans to friend her on! Keep in mind that this Facebook, this Twitter, and this WhoSay are Liana’s only official social networking accounts. Any and all others are 100% fake.

And there seems to be another film in the works for Liana. This one is called Writers. According to the film’s IMDb, she’ll be working with Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, and Nat Wolff (of the Naked Brothers Band, who Liana recently worked with on a music video!). Here’s a bit of information about the movie:

Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly are in talks to star in Writers, a family drama that follows the tricky relationship between a novelist (Kinnear) and his ex-wife (Connelly) over the course of a year. The indie will be directed by first-time filmmaker Josh Boone, from his original screenplay. Filming is due to start in March in Wilmington, N.C. Source

Congrats Liana! No word yet on who she’ll be playing exactly but hopefully, we’ll have more info soon.

New Film: ‘Free Ride’ Oct 15

If you follow Liana on Twitter, you may have seen a few tweets about going to fittings and that she is “totally digging the 70s clothes”. Well, now we know what that is all about! Liana has booked the role of MJ in an independent film by Shana Sosin called Free Ride. She will be working with a great cast of people, including True Blood’s Anna Paquin, who will play her mother, her Trespass costar Cam Gigandet, and little Ava Acres, who will play Liana’s sister Shell. Check out the short synopsis:

A single mom caught up in the Florida drug trade during the late 1970s tries to make a better life for her two girls.

It is roughly based on Shana’s early life, so technically, Liana will be playing the director/writer’s older sister! Congratulations to Liana!
